online multi-segment search keeps bringing up an error

I am trying to book an itinerary from MSP to China with a one-night stay in SFO, a stopover in PVG, a day-long connection in XIY, and a destination of PEK.

The routing is: MSP-SFO (stay overnight <24 hours) - YVR - PVG (stop) - XIY (early flight in - last flight out) - PEK (destination) - YYZ-MSP

I have found availability for the dates I want, but anytime I try to use the multi-segment booking tool it comes up with an error. Is this not a valid routing? I want to be sure it's valid before wasting time waiting to talk to an agent.

I have tried various combinations to see what the problem is and I believe the extra long connections in SFO and XIY are to blame. I was able to dummy book SFO-YVR-PVG-PEK-YYZ-MSP with the exact same segments, but when adding the MSP-SFO or the PVG-XIY-PEK routings, I kept getting an error.

On an unrelated note, which economy product/routing would be better: SFO-KIX (in a UA 772) - PVG or SFO-YVR-PVG in a 763? I should mention that I'm an average height 22 year old so economy won't kill me ^
