I have several hundred thousand AMEX MR points and several hundred thousand BA avios points. Any suggestions on the best airlines/routing/method of booking? I'd like to minimize stops and travel time as much as possible. However, I wouldn't be opposed to staying a night in London or LA if necessary.
Another question: is a flight from JFK to HKG business class for 70k BA points plus $180 USD a good deal? Seems like a decent deal to me, but want to verify.
Thanks for any information you may have.
Take a look at Aeroplan.ca, you might like BKK-FRA-DUS-MIA Or perhaps BKK-MUC-DUS-MIA. on Thai / Lufthansa (or all Lufthansa).
And to save a bit on "Fuel Surcharge" (Swiss doesn't have any yet)
BKK-ZRH-DUS-MIA on Swiss / Lufthansa
Try to avoid landing in LHR (Heathrow) if you can, the fees are ridiculous.
I don't know much about One World but what I've read is that you should avoid British Airways (They charge more fees when you use their planes and they also charge more fees for Business / First). Apparently you can "trick" the British Airways system to "Force" partners by selecting days that are "Full" for the return and then changing later.

Good Luck !
