Unfortunately I get this about every 10th flight or so. I have to wear a lift in my one shoe due to a short leg. Most screeners must see this as harmless, if they see it at all. Every couple of months though I get a wanna be Kojak who thinks they just stopped the next Richard Reed. My shoes are taken to the table and given the multi-swab test. One woman in MCO was especially annoying, as the fact that the test came back negative repeatedly seemed to boggle her mind. She must have swabbed it a half dozen times before she finally gave up.
