I applied for the United MileagePlus Club card last week. Today I checked into the DCA United Club (formerly the President's Club) and presented my Premier 1K card and identification. I told the agent that I didn't have my Club card yet and she said not to worry. She manually entered my 1K MP number and said "Welcome to the club." A short time later she presented me with a "Temporary Membership Card" (on Continental Ticket Stock), and to my surprise it displayed:

UNITED CLUB MEMBER: EXP. 31 JUL2013
PREMIER LEVEL: 1K
PRINT DATE: 12APR2012

The agent said that I should present this card upon entry to any UC until I receive my card in the mail. So basically I am getting 15 months of UA UC membership with this Chase card. Very pleased. ^

On a side note: I inquired about the consolidation of UA gates at DCA and agent remarked that it would occur during "late summer." The former President's Club is going to be expanded and UA's operations at Gates 23-34 will be combined with Continental's old territory. Agent said the gates will receive a remodel and will be nicer than the current gates. Let's hope this is valid information.
