I have an upcoming trip that has 4 segments which means for a little more than $200 I can essentially buy 12,000 bonus miles. Now I know these don't count as MQM's but if I throw this into this trip (which my company is paying for) I pay $200 for a total of 17,000 miles, 5,000 of which are MQM's.

What do you think, worth it or no? Trying to grab as many miles as I can to fly my GF and I to South America next year. Already have 125K miles banked, so an extra 17K certainly doesn't hurt.
Short answer: no.

Long answer: You're still paying over $400 for 25k miles, which in terms of an award ticket, upgrades and benefits are lower than LUT fares (probably still higher than E except UGs) and don't earn MQM for that award trip. That's also assuming you can actually find 25k RTs domestic. Just doesn't seem like a great deal overall, which I'm sure is why Delta loves and offers it.
