If your husband gets an A boarding pass the 3y/o can board with him no matter what her number is. or they can both wait and board with family boarding. if you are wanting a 3 row and an aisle then when you pre-board head further back in the plane. That is assuming there are no through passengers and that 4 seats are unoccupied in that configuration.
