I have also stayed at both Four Seasons resorts - both have benefits, but my favourite is Landaa Giravaaru as it is remote (away from the hustle of Male and international jets) the beach villas are beautifully appointed with huge areas belonging to each villa, and in the evenings you walk along the sandy paths while citronella lamps light the path with the waft of the tropics.

I wil be revisitign both islands next month ( a lucky prize) alogn with another revisit to Hilton Irufushi (not the same luxury, but a cheaper location to spend our first 10 nights).

I visited W intending not to like it - but came away loving the place after having a few late night beers with the island GM Laurens.

Other places for consideration :-

Park Hyatt Hadahaa
Six Senses Latitude Laamu
Zitahli Kuda Funafaru
Waldorf Astoria
Viceroy
Shangri La Villingili
Dusit Thani

Hopefully I will be returning in October with the intention of visiting/revisiting the above for some trip reports.
Thanks
