Now that another year and another annual fee is here. I called and was offered a $25 rebate. I then asked about points and he offered 2,000.
Unfortunately, I hadn't checked FT first or I would have tried a second CSR in hopes of an offer like yours.

I guess I need to start reading every thread rather than select ones as I interpret their titles. For the past year when I saw this thread I thought the OP was telling us we could now have 3,000 points deducted from our Starwood account in lieu of paying the $65 annual Amex fee. Based on how how I value Starwood points that did not interest me, but after finally reading it I feel I've lost out on around 3k points.
I am more happy that I know this now than bummed that I missed out.
