If you don't, then you have to wait minutes/hours/days for your reservation to ticket before you can apply the upgrade.
Is that one of the umteen selections available, along with purchasing extra miles, insurance, e+, etc.???
I've never seen this, but then I'm still learning this new & improved, state of the art system!
