Angry

Ugh. I'm breaking my New Year's Resolution: I will not comment on absurd complaining threads on FT. But. I. Can't. Take. It. Any. More!!!!!!

Oy Vey!!!!

They goofed! Metro timetables are freely available. The Metro is actually on time!!! And if you go to WMATA.com you can even enter your departure and destination and it will tell you how long it will take. UGH!!!!!

I used to live in Shady Grove. It's pretty much the farthest one could get from somewhere to DCA on the Metro. It would take ~1 hour to get from my place to DCA with a change of train. So it's obvious that they didn't even start to the airport until they were INSIDE the 2 hour window.

Then the Kettle Factor. Ugh. Seriously. You couldn't read the signs that say "check in" with that little arrow thingy pointing diagonally up? And you expect to arrive within 30 minutes and be OK? Really? You haven't read any horror stories? Like the weekly travel complaint section in NYT or the Washington Post? Seriously?

Kettle factoid #3: $324 from DCA to ORD is also pretty darn good. That's NOT expensive. Try my flight from ATL-MCO last month. I bought it 3 weeks ahead of the flight and paid $450 on DL. Seriously I did. That's a shorter flight. Now, don't get me wrong.... I just paid $198 each for my family to fly ATL-BWI... but guess what??? They really want to go to DCA and I have to find alternative transportation down to Woodley Park. But guess what??? It's cheaper than the $400+ difference to fly into DCA. Double Ugh.

Finally, obviously the advice you received about the ticket wasn't correct... but you were still standby and hadn't officially abandoned your 1st leg. Duh.

Ugh. Thanks for ruining my New Year's resolution. I hope you atone for this on Yom Kippur.
