From the SkyMiles new member bonus t&c:
Flight Activity: Earn 5,000 bonus miles for first round-trip flight purchased and flown after enrollment on any Delta-operated and -marketed worldwide flight. Earn an additional 2,500 bonus miles for each of the next 4 round-trip flights purchased and flown. A qualifying flight includes any round-trip Delta or Delta Connection® flight. One-way flights do not qualify for this offer. Codeshare flights operated by carriers other than the Delta Connection carriers are excluded from this offer. All travel must be completed within 12 months of enrollment in the promotion. Pay with Miles tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual, Medallion Complimentary Upgrades, Medallion Qualification Segments, Medallion Qualification Miles, or Best Fare Guarantee. A maximum of 15,000 bonus miles will be awarded for flight activity.
It looks like if I used 10k miles via pay with miles I'd lose the 1000 points I'd actually receive for the flight, but I'd still get the 5k bonus for purchasing the roundtrip ticket + the 5k bonus for using 10k miles? Am I missing something?
