Just got my offer in mail as well, for up to $4 spend. Not gotten the wife's yet. Both our cards will have first anniv annual fee billed 5/1/12. Seems like a smart move on Chase and BA's part to give this incentive to keep card through the annual fee period.
The terms say "Maximum bonus Avios accumulation during the promotional period is 10, 000 bonus points, which equates to $4,000 in net purchases".
The way I read that is that I earn 10k BONUS Avios for $4k spend, ie the bonus is on top of the regular 1.25 Avios earned per $1. Anyone have actual experience with this in past who can say if they earned a total of 2.5x or 3.75x on their non-BA spend?
I will definitely do this if I am earning 3.75x Avios on next $4k spend, as it is a nice incentive on top of the retention bonus.
