Jinxy, I'm flying VA MEL-SYD-LAX-MEL in Y in August, so looking forward to your TR's (I've not flown VA long haul). I understand that by that time, the 777's will have been refurbished - not sure whether there will be any impact in Y. Interested to hear whether the 777's are quieter than 747's and as quiet as the A380's. One thing I'm already not impressed about - VA discount Y (total cost was $1,475, including paid exit row seats [26A] both long haul flights) only earns 0.5 Velocity points per mile, compared with 1 point for QFF.
