Thanks so much Nikon!
It will probably be both a hassle and ordeal driving from Israel to Jordan and dealing with the border, so I figured that rather than driving from Jerusalem to Petra direct, stopping off at the Ma'In in or around Madaba would break up the journey and not make it feel so rushed. That way, we could leave Jerusalem on the 25th and enter Jordan, spend the afternoon evening at the Ma'In Hot Springs, and then continue on to Petra the next morning. You don't think that'd feel a bit less hectic than driving straight from Jerusalem to Petra?
Also, do you know anything about the ease of border crossing by car?
Is one night in Petra (perhaps with the afternoon, evening, and next morning) enough to see both Petra/Wadi Musa and also Wadi Rum?
You say that what we are trying to achieve in this time period seems like a lot... which parts of our itinerary seem the most unrealistic to you?
Thanks so much for your suggestions and help with everything and if you think we should stay at the Kempinski Ishtar and visit Jerash, Mount Nebo and Madaba from here, then move on to Petra and stay at the Ma'In on our last leg home (reverse Kempinski and Ma'In) then I'll do it! Just curious why you feel it'd be easier though?
Thanks again!!
