Hey guys,
Has anybody else noticed that complimentary upgrades seem to have stopped in the past few months for gold card holders?
I used to get upgraded from Premium to Club on a pretty regular basis on my outbound flights from Heathrow but in the past 2 or 3 months it hasn't happened once even after being flagged for upgrades by friends that work at BA. What makes it stranger is that check in staff have actually lied about how busy the plane has been on virtually every occasion that I haven't been upgraded. We all know that a busy flight means a greater chance of getting a better seat so it's always worth asking how busy the flight is. In response to this question recently I have repeatedly been informed that "the flight is not busy this evening" and then boarded the plane to find economy & premium at capacity and club at least 3/4's full.
Is anybody else noticing this apparent change of policy or have I just been unlucky?
I don't want this to sound like I'm complaining about my diamond shoes being too tight or anything like that

but if this is the new Avios / Exec club policy I would seriously consider changing my allegiance to another frequent flyer program.
Cheers!
