I'm thinking of doing it for an upcoming trip and I know there's a risk of a full flight. For a flight 2 weeks away, local office is saying J is still clear but when I got through to MPO they won't release the seats.

I'm thinking when I get to the airport, it becomes CX "loss" not to accommodate a mileage upgrade if seats are available.
alot of the discounted V class tickets that still earn 100 millege dont allow for fare class upgrade....its buy a new ticket or stick to what you paid for....
