Outside of location, I fail to see any reason why to go to a CY at all. No free breakfast (for everyone or Gold/Plat) and not really all that nice room-wise.

Both SHS and THS should have free breakfasts, though SHS will be a little beefier (from my experience). Neither breakfast generally is all that great (THS should have cold breakfasts, whereas SHSs will have some hot items but not approaching your typical RI breakfasts).

Room-wise, the THS will have a basic kitchen, whereas SHS will only have a small sink, microwave and mini-fridge. My understanding is that THS is really for longer-term/extended stays (often I see THSs that are next to a RI or other Marriott property and thus run jointly by the same management).

My preference would be SHS generally. SHS are not "suites" technically in that there is really only one room in a normal guest room. However, they try to make it "feel" like 2 areas, with the bed area and a couch/desk area with usually a small wall separating the two (with a TV that swivels between the 2).
