I'd close the blind for someone. It's a genuine "shared resource" and I'd accommodate a passenger who wanted it closed during flight, and I'd open it as necessary when I wanted to peek out.

I don't think the two things are comparable. Your iPad is your iPad. Nobody else should be looking at the screen. But the open window can affect a number of people.
