My favorite card experience is with a Schwab account and debit card.

They will refund any and all atm fees and not charge you for foreign transactions. This way you can go to any ATM in US or Europe and get cash without worry about which brand or what fees will be charged.

Inside the US they refund the fees at the end of the month and outside they never show up.
