The sorting abilities from the flight selection screen are extensive:
departure time
arrival time
flight duration
number of stops
flight number
price
aircraft type
It's the routing logic that doesn't work very hard to be comprehensive. There well-regarded studies that show a higher number of choices can inhibit purchase behavior.
Some people who buy on Orbitz, etc. will soon enough be back here complaining about IROPS handling, schedule change notifications and rebooking, and upgrade anomalies on AF/KL-coded but DL-operated flights.
Perhaps, but one would think that the unfiltered results would list everything available. If that is too overwhelming for the customer, then they can filter and sort to their heart's desire. It seems strange that a third party web site can show more routings than DL.com, and they are using DL's raw data.
