Why not get some local currency for your first couple of stops in the US before you leave, and then when you get there you can check to see if your bank card is working - if not, you have time to call BofA and have them fix the issue. When picking an ATM, make sure the symbols on the machine 'match' the ones on your card (for example, my Canadian debit card has the PLUS logo on, so I look for machines with the PLUS logo, other machines may just have the Cirrus logo, in which case my card wouldn't work in them. Plenty of machines have more than one symbol on them too, it's not always one or the other (and there are a couple of others I can't recall right now))
