Spoke with MCI today. Rep. sounded very knowledgable (I think). Told me that combining bills DOES save money. He claimed that things like the "national access fee" and the MCI "plan fee" ($1.95/$5.00 minimum) are saved on lines after the first one when bills are combined. I have not received any bills or AA statements since I authorized this "gamble". I am still anxious about the whole thing, but was reassured somewhat after talking to the rep. today. He checked the mileage postings to my AAdvantage account, too, and those seemed correct. I'm supposed to receive 5,000 per month for 5 months, just like the arrangement recently completed on the other line. Only time will tell. In light of all the terrible customer service stories posted here, I was relieved to talk with someone (anyone!) at MCI who gave out accurate, understandable information!
