I'm not that experienced with Saver awards, but I would say don't rule out booking HNL-OGG as a separate paid one-way - it's well under $100 with several airlines having several flights a day. Gives you the flexbility to not have to decide and try to book your hotel nights on each island so far ahead of time.

Not sure if it makes the award booking easier, to then only need to look for CVG-HNL and OGG-CVG open-jaw, but you don't any stopover complexity.
