They closed a bunch of their CS offices and laid off a few thousand staff just recently.

UMA was the best, I have same as you -- but now having jumped ship to Vz since last winter [after almost 15 yrs with TMO], gotta admit their coverage is extraordinary. I get a signal in my basement, whereas had to rely on wifi with TMO. And it's nice to get a signal when on Metro North with Vz!
