Lost luggage - Bag didn't make it to HKG
I'm kinda at my wit's end here. Flew ARN-IST-HKG on Fri 6 Apr, staying here in Hong Kong before going to a friends wedding in Manila, flying out 12th. Naturally I packed my suit and shoes in the checked luggage.
Bag didn't make it to HKG unfortunately, the baggage handler for TK in HKG (SATS) took a report and keeps saying they've contacted Istanbul with my description of the bag and it's contents. They apparently can't see if it made it from ARN or not, and "istanbul has a lot of lost bags". They say they've given them all the details but who knows if it's getting through to IST. I'm not sure I even put a name tag on it (which is kinda stupid in retrospect but it hasn't been a problem yet).
Called +90 212 444 0 849, who were less helpful ("No, baggage doesn't have a phone number, why am I even taking your call"). Can't get to the handler in ARN since it's easter monday.
Any ideas on how to figure out where in the system my bag is or who to contact?
Did I screw up by not picking my bag up in IST (baggage was tagged with "international transit" and a prio tag, ticketed all the way through and baggage tag says HKG IST on it so I didn't think I need to).
I kinda expected better service, paying for J, but I guess all luggage is equal.
