Isn't the argument with shorthaul that you can make it look like a loss or a profit, depending on whether you calculate it purely on a point-to-point basis, or whether you allocate the route some additional profitability from those short-haul flights that are connecting to a long-haul flight.
Does anyone know how BA calculates it?
