As T1 and T2 are joined together (the imaginary "dividing line" is inside one of the buildings), it's probably just a matter of how far apart the gates will be (could be pretty far apart), as all departure gates are on the same floor. You'll arrive on one of the Schengen gates, go through passport control (never seen much of a line here) and then just go to your gate.
Got it! So Terminals 1-3 are the "original" segmented terminal, and the division between T1 and T2 must be the one I used to pass through to get from the Schengen part to the gates for BA flights (in times long gone).
Big relief, I thought Iwas sending him on a nightmare journey of trains, buses and escalators: but it'll just be a steady kilometre or so plod ......
