I'll third the Moto Razr. I've had mine since 2006 and it's still going strong. I never saw the need to move up to a smartphone. I have my iTouch and my 13" MacBook Pro, so I good with those for all my other functions. The Razr has been with me to Europe, Africa and the Middle East. No problems. Depending on what I'm going to do, I either buy a SIM card or, if I'm just keeping it for emergencies, I'll just use my T-Mo international roaming feature.
