For what it's worth:
Everytime I switch to AT&T through Marriott Rewards, it always takes AT&T roughly 4-5 months to credit the 5,000 points. While this sounds particularly unacceptable to most of us, I find myself lucky that I get the points in the first place.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif So allow 4-5 months for it to post and try not to call them at all until then; it's just a waste of your time, IMHO. I believe the Marriott pamphlet stated that it may take 180 days to get your points.
Also, for the past two years AT&T and Marriott seems to offer the 10,000 points deal around Oct/Nov, so you may want to wait till then. Oh and one more thing, I believe the program checks that you don't have more than two AT&T Sign Up bonus posting a year (with the same frequent stay program). Either that, or no two AT&T postings within 6 months. This is why I got 5,000 Marriott points for switching in Apr 99 and when I signed up for the 10,000 points in Nov 99 (for a different phone line), I got zip.
Thanks.
