What did CX say when you called?
CX is the operating carrier and as it's said, they control the boarding door. So, if CX says you don't have a ticket, you won't board. Don't rely on a piece of paper issued by another carrier which some harried county / GA isn't going to deal with.
CX and BA are now using the same system. If there is an E-TKT that BA can see, CX sees it, too. In fact, all OW carriers can view E-TKTs issued by another OW carrier, even if it has no segment on their FLTs.
