UK's passport control check personnel are far more likely to give a young foreign female traveling by herself to meet a boyfriend a major problem than US CBP, but both do cause issues.

However, with regard to both UKBA and US CBP, the recommendation to try to end up in a lane with a male (preferably older male) is more likely to lead to less unnecessary issues (at least at the primary passport control check desks) than if being processed by a female in a passport control check role.
