tip is never automatic for me. if the service is crap. i give nothing. if they serve me with a smile and they do a good job, then i give some. i tend not to give by percentage because i don't think that makes any sense at all. where i live, it's 15%. if i have a dish for $ 10, it's $ 1.50. if i ordered one dish four$ 100, i don't see why i have to give $ 15, especially if the waiter is just bringing one dish. i know alot of you here will get all hyped up about this. some will say if i so cheap don't eat out etc. but it's my money, I'm not a millionaire and if the waiter didn't like his tips, he can go get another job. I'm not responsible for paying some one's wages.
