Lounge access, priority check-in/boarding, additional luggage, free seat selection, Avios miles bonus' etc - it all await. Just get yourself to AMS or JER as the OP says. But you don't have to spend a night there, just do a straight return if I was you to save time & money.
There's no certainty but you should be able to book JER as two one ways in Y and use MMB upgrades
