If all of the travellinng you do is in Y, then the benefits of Silver should mean an afwul lot to you, especially if you travel alone or with just one other passenger.

Lounge access, priority check-in/boarding, additional luggage, free seat selection, Avios miles bonus' etc - it all await. Just get yourself to AMS or JER as the OP says. But you don't have to spend a night there, just do a straight return if I was you to save time & money.
