CX revenue control will hold a certain number of seats back for last minute Gold/Diamond guaranteed seat sales. Those seats are released back into the system between 72 and 24 hours prior to departure. Then a system check is done at CX inventory control to determine what seats might be oversold.

F class for one is never oversold. And J is oversold by a small percentage only.

CX rarely leaves anyone behind due to an oversold situation.
