So I am going to be renting a car that comes with a fuel card. I want to try and get the 2000 bonus miles from avios.com, which requires minimum 75 avios from shell.

I'm trying to work out the minimum I need to fill up to get the rewards. First of all, it says 20 litres = 20 points = 10 avios. Do points get transferred to avios 20:10 or is it 2:1?

I will get 50 bonus avios from avios.com when I link the shell card. However, on the shell website, it says I get 50 bonus points just for registering. But 50 points = 25 avios, so are there actually two bonuses? And if so, which one counts towards the 75 avios min? Does this mean I need to fill up at least 20L or 50L or 100L?

I'm likely to only drive less than 500 miles, but I guess I could stay in lower gears and idle a lot but if I need 100L, then it may be better to fill up at tesco (unless the previous renter has not filled the tank before returning)!

I'm not going to ask when everything will get posted, but since I will only need to drive twice in April, they should both fall in the same shell quarter and avios quarter...
