Specifically the issue is negative PQM showing up in the beginning balance of the MP statement that is debiting recent activity from PQM balance. In my case, my total Airline Activity is now mostly correct (still missing 8 miles from the change in mileage fiasco...) but I have a negative Beginning Balance currently in the amount of my most recent mileage to post, throwing off the bottom line Ending Balance by exactly that much. Actually my most recent is US miles flown on the same day as a UA itinerary that hasn't yet posted... US always posted quicker than CO in OP anyway though so that is par for the course.

I have some database programming in my past, and I just can not imagine the circumstance that led someone to program "credit to airline activity, debit to beginning balance" from a programmatic standpoint. They had to have programmed it; it can't just be a bug that debits the previous balance that has survived this long for absolutely no reason (can it?).

Thus, is there some accounting reason why they did this? Has someone addressed this from UA and I can't find it in search (entirely possible...)?

At least a month later the numbers more or less make sense; when I started this thread I couldn't make any sense of the amounts to have an educated guess even as to where they were coming up with negative 11k miles or whatever it was.
Picture this: Credit to airline activity, then two days later credit to closing balance. I surmise that the opening balance is calculated on the fly by subtracting recent activity from closing balance, so it shows a negative number during the two-day closing balance crediting delay.
