FAQ:
1. Which aircraft has the new C Class?
Right now
93 out of 105 aircraft are equipped with the new seat.
- These seats are on all (19) 747-8is, (14) A380 and (19) A333 to/from Frankfurt.
- From/to MUC you will get the new seats on 17 out of 20 A346 and on all (8) A333s.
- From/to DUS all aircraft are equipped with the new seats (2 A343).
2. Rules of thumb
FRA
- All 747s and A380s are operating from/to Frankfurt
- All but 2 A343 are flying to/from Frankfurt
- No A346 flights to/from FRA
- If you fly on a 747-8i, A380 or A333 than you have the new seat for sure (unless they change the aircraft to anything else).
- On the A343 you have to have the two class layout with 42C and 225Y seats. (
Seatmap). Chances are 11/15.
MUC
- If you're on an A333 flight to/from MUC you will have the new cabin
- All A346 are flying to/from MUC
- No A343 flights to/from MUC
DUS
- It's safe both A343 have the new cabin
3. I'm on a B744 fight, do I have the new seat?
- Seven planes have the new seat. Nearly half the 744 fleet will be sent to the desert. The rest will be upgraded to a Y, Y+ and C configuration.

For flights 1-5 days ahead:
1. just go to
http://www.lufthansa.com/de/en/Arrival-and-Departure, plug in the flight number and select the date.
2. When the flight status is displayed, click on the 'additional options' button and select 'i Flight details'
3. The field 'aircraft' will show 'Aircraft name Neue/New First & Business Class'
For flights more than 5 days ahead you need to make a fake booking and see if the aircraft has the seats 27 DEFG in economy. If it doesn't the aircraft is fitted with new C.
5. How to identify the seat maps
-A333
Check row 27. The new planes have 4 seats there, the old ones 8.
-A343
Retrofitted planes doesn't have a F Cabin. C starts in row 1.
-A346
The front section of the C Cabin only has rows 3-7. Row 10 only has seats 10DG, 10AC & HK are missing.
-A388
Row 21 must be behind the lav.
