The place I mourn was my local cafe in my adopted neighborhood in Paris. Nothing special, really -- the food was overpriced and so-so -- but the proprietor, a former footballer, was friendly and a real character, the Belgian beer on tap was good, and it was my great good place. Under the new owners the place isn't the same at all.
