But if they set up a promo in a way that will get away from them, that's their own technical fault.

Absolutely correct gleff.

And there was no censorship back those few short months in the Starwood Board to those links being posted.

And IMO the members of Flyertalk who were interested benefited due to that policy. And as you point out ... it will be profitable for Starwood at the end of the day as well. A Gold card is useless unless you now stay at Starwoods - after all.

A "Win - Win" situation for all concerned it seems to me?

Let the huge Corporations look after their own websites and block registering to whomever they wish. But please keep RIGHT AWAY from blocking the traditions and appeal of Flyertalk.
