Markie, looking at your input on this thread, I see your good will and your heart is definitely on the right place! Unfortunately, part of your first statement
I think that the silence from Randy, and yes I have emailed him, suggests that he has no further comment, beyond the two line statement to make.
was not appropriate to post here. Questions were raised, but questions, you are not in the position to answer accordingly.
To add to this situation, you made
”corrections” to
ozstamps thoughts; now I have the impression that you blame me for doing something wrong. I am worried, that some of these
”corrections” may lead to confusion by part of our community,

- This matter was brought out in the open after a Moderator read a post that I made in the Moderator forum asking for advise after I received the email from William.
…
- I posted this issue in the Moderator forum to get some advise on what other Moderators thought was a good course of action, because I was so worried about the implications of asking for the link to be removed.
- In the meantime another Starwood Moderator had acted and so the flyertalk admin staff. All whilst the Moderators were considering what was best to do.
so I take the liberty to clarify:
- As I explained here, I got an e-mail from a desperate Starwood client who claimed, that he could not register for the promo in question, as tedhl deleted the link.
- At the time I open this thread, tedhl had already fulfilled the request from one Starwood moderator & FlyerTalk Administration to delete this link. Consequently, everyone who spotted the thread Starwood Free Weekend Nights Details realised, that the relevant answer was deleted.
- The decision “what was best to do” was made by others and during the time you searched for advice, what you should do. In short: Others had act, while you did not know what to do.
- At the time the request was fulfilled, any further discussion what a Starwood moderator should do, was obsolete. The question was now, if this action was appropriate. And this was exactly the reason, why I opened this thread:
As I do not see that there is a violation of the TOS if somebody posts a link that leads to registration page for a (targeted) promotion, it would be interesting to know, why tedhl was told that the info he gave us was not appropriate?
- As the Starwood Forum is not private, I brought nothing out in the open, that was private. What I did was this: I started a thread, that gets attention from part of our community!
Unfortunately, all these “corrections” and necessary clarifications do not address the topic of this thread and do not answer any question raised within.
Let me add some remarks to this suggestion:

I think that perhaps a general prohibition on employees of scheme operators from standing for TalkBoard would be wise change for 2004. Leave William in post, but change the rules for next time.
As I wrote above,
Randy indicates that he does not mind to have
program presence included in TB,

A DreamBoard also might include a program presence since we have seen and will continue to see some of their presence on FlyerTalk.
But it is our decision whom we elect to TB.
