As we neared the remote DL storage area at LAX (where they have planes parked for overnight storage), out near their maintenance base, I began to wonder what the heck we were doing. We pulled into their maintenance area and taxi'd toward the back of the ramp past a 757.

The arrival gate for our flight shows as "HGR" on DL.com.

There didn't appear to be many parking stands where we were (we were at the furthest spot)
Question for someone who knows. I am not sure were the DL maint hangers at LAX are located. The OP describes going past T5 then T6 so he was going east. According to the LAX's own map a DAL hanger area is shown just east of T8. Is this where the DL HGR stands are?

What surprised me is an area of gates numbered 201 to 219 called "West Gates" in the map insert, located way out west by 6R in the breakwaters of the Pacific Ocean. If these are remote stands it could be an even longer bus ride back to the main terminal area. Or are these stands for charters and such? Anyone know?
