Why didn't you use any meta search sites like qunar or kayak? Incidentally, I always start with this, but usually end up booking with Expedia myself (for international flights, only; they are still a bit behind the curve intra-China).
In response to your most recent post, Air China isn't that bad, but I advise you to load up on food at the airport... and, maybe bring some Ambien (exact same way I tolerate United, fwiw).
