It is, mostly because fares in North America are symmetrical and I've historically only queried one of those directions to make it more efficient. I'm working on fixing this, either through better data acquisition or presentation queries. Should be done tomorrow at some point.

That checkbox does exist but only for users who upgrade to the First Class level. Also at the First Class level if you click on the icon to the left of the carrier name it selects only that one.

I think that I've been somewhat reasonable in terms of what's free versus what requires registration versus what has a rather nominal fee. I am firmly of the opinion that charging for the data is not the correct approach, but there are some additional features that I don't think are so unreasonable given the rather minimal cost for the upgrade.
