attorney28, you're right -- my mistake. One of my English teachers in high school made a point about alliteration having to occur on the emphasized syllables, but after Googling some definitions, I found that alliteration in Old English (e.g., the time of
Beowulf) had to occur on stressed syllables, but in modern English the term is applied to initial syllables.
