AY changed their reservations system in early March. From March 15th you must pay for advance seat reservations. Perhaps at the same time they messed up the link with ba.com? Certainly if I book an AY flight with a BA flight number then I cannot do advance seat reservations (despite it being in Y and being a gold card holder, both of which would entitle me to free seat allocations according to the AY website).
