It amazes me how slowly the combined airline is re-organizing the routes its fleet flies. LHR-NYC is a prime market for Business Class and First Class, arguably the most prime market in the world. Yet the combined UA does not see fit to put First Class on the route. I don't buy the argument that it does not have enough planes - switch from other routes where First Class is unsellable.

Also, with such a large fleet, you would think that they would be creating sub-fleets with different ratios of First to Business to Economy. I know that they have this by default, but they don't use it and it's haphazard in the extreme.

I do recognise, however, that UA is extremely weak on this highly competitive route and this, I suspect, has more to do with the fleet choice.
