If I avail of the instant upgrade (at the airport) - will they present me with upgrade option for my return trip as well?

I'm having a hard time with the MPC hotline and given my schedule I'm thinking of availing the airport upgrade option for HKG-YYZ.

Also, would you have any confirmation re K class upgrade? I recently read in the forum (if I understand correctly) they're now requiring R class to upgrade to J but reading through AM website there's no specific guidelines about K class no longer being upgradeable to J.
