Does new website display seat assignment on multileg flights with same flight number?

Never had this problem with the old .bomb. Booked on a DCA-ORD-SFO flight that has the same flight number but change of aircraft, but from same type to same type, at ORD. At booking, was asked to select seat for "DCA-SFO" and did so. Final itin shows both segments separately, with the selected seat showing on DCA-ORD, but no seat assignmnet showing for the ORD-SFO. The seat I selected on the first segment does show as occupied on the second segment seat map, so one might guess it assigned me that same seat on both segments as I requested, but the second segment itin just shows a dash, as if no seat had been selected at all. If I try to select an open seat for ORD-SFO, it allows it, but the result never sticks in the reservation. Is this the expectd behavior?? Perhaps some CO veteran knows??
