#1. A near crash landing is NOT a crash landing.

#2. Missed flights happens every day to lots of people.

#3. Compensation - Just write a letter if it's a big
deal, & your kids will probably get
something if UA concurs that they
deserve it.

Personally, I'd be happy that they made it safe & sound and just because they mis-connected wouldn't be a reason for me to ask this NEW airline for compensation, because they are the one's playing hard-assed as of late.

Just write them a letter and see what happens. Trying to get anyone to agree to anything on this board, ain't gonna happen, as no matter what the facts are, someone will always put a different spine on it to either bad mouth UA while the others will make excuses that the passenger is always wrong.
